Nearing the end of 2017, I have been reflecting a lot on the past year - particularly how grateful I am for this profession and the people that have come into my life because of it.
Jenny and Sharad are high on the list of these new friends. Their love story begins in San Francisco, the place they call home, after living near parallel lives: both growing up in nearby Wisconsin towns, attending UW-Madison for undergrad, residing in New York for a time, but not yet meeting one another until they each relocated to the west coast a few years ago.
When Jenny first emailed me about their wedding day, I immediately felt we were kindred spirits and that these two were some high quality human beings (I was right).
They knew they wanted their day to be as relaxed, authentic and fun as possible surrounded by their closest family and friends (and border collie, Panda). The day was all of that and more, thanks in part to some non-traditional choices that I very much loved - self-written vows during an outdoor ceremony, a laidback reception sans seating arrangement, and forgoing a wedding party. Numerous heartfelt speeches, tears, laughs and amazing 70 degree October weather made for the most perfect day.
Thank you so much, Jenny and Sharad, for letting me capture these moments for you.
